About the Role

This University of Melbourne has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Workplace/Facilities Manager with demonstrated leadership skills to play a vital role in delivering our infrastructure strategy and optimising BAU operations. The Workplace Manager is responsible for leading, directing and delivering high quality professional facilities services for the Faculty's workplace environments. They will develop and implement strategic workplace plans for the Faculty's dedicated Facilities portfolio to address the unique needs of a STEM faculty.

The role is responsible for effective management and coordination across a range of facilities services and programs and improving space utilisation through effective space management. The role will work closely with project teams to facilitate the planning and preparation for the Faculty to transition into new workplaces at Fishermans Bend, Parkville and Melbourne Connect. They will operationalise the new workplace facilities by establishing workplace protocols and processes.

Responsibilities include:

Lead high quality professional workplace services for the Faculty's workplace environments.
Build and lead strong, trusted relationships with key partners across the Faculty and University.
Lead and facilitate the planning and preparation for the Faculty to transition into new workplaces at Fishermans Bend, Parkville and Melbourne Connect.
Improve the staff and student experience in our workplace environments through leading the implementation of key programs and initiatives with a strong focus on best practise change management.
Develop and implement initiatives to improve space utilisation through effective space management.



About You

You are an effective leader with the interpersonal skills needed to navigate complex stakeholder networks, building trust and credibility, influence negotiations and driving positive outcomes. You are experienced in change management, effectively engaging stakeholders through a structured approach that achieves the desired vision. Your initiative and customer-centric mindset will enable you to lead a team to develop and implement new initiatives and continuously improve your service offering.

You will also have:

Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing workplace management strategies in new workspaces including effective space management.
Significant experience in project management including contract management and change management.
Significant experience in policy and process development and strategic and operational planning.
Demonstrated understanding of Health Safety and Wellbeing issues.
